Welcome to WELL II 2012!

My name is Carla Raguseo and I’m the online tutor and designer of the WELL course. I started integrating blogs and wikis into my classes seven years ago and my teaching has never been the same since then. They say that "One's mind, once stretched by a new idea, never regains its original dimensions.", right?  Together we’ll discover how these tools can help us boost motivation and develop learning autonomy in our students within a content-based approach to language learning.

Our WELL blog is one of the three online spaces we will use throughout the course to share experiences and expand our learning networks. On the sidebar, you’ll find the blogs that were created by other EFL teachers in previous courses. Check them out!

I'd like to invite you to introduce yourselves and share your experiences with blogs and wikis as well as your expectations for this course. Also, take your time to look around and make yourselves at home!

Hi!
I'm Ana Ferrara. I'm from Mendoza, Argentina. I have been an Englsh teacher for 7 years.
I have only read some blogs from certain institutions, but I don't know how they work, how to create and comment on them.
As regards wikis, I didn't know they existed! I only knew Wikipedia, and I thought it was just a website! I had to look for the definition of "wiki" before I decided to take the course!
I'm eager to learn how to create and use blogs and wikis for my classes, I love working with technology, but I still have a lot to learn.

Welcome, Ana!!

Well you have already left your first comment on a blog, right? :-)

I'm really glad you've joined us and I'm sure we'll unveil the potential of blogs and wikis for language learning together.

Let's get started!

Warm regards,

Carla

Hello! My name is Greta Fijtman and I live in Rosario. I'm a student of 4th year at San Bartolome.
I've worked with wikis with Carla but I know that I still have to learn more about them. Regarding blogs, I don't know how to work and how to make post in them.
I hope that by the end of the course I will be able to learn how to use wikis and blogs.

I really hope this course will meet your expectations.

Hugs, Carla

In the drop-down menu below the comment field you can choose the option "name/URL" and write your name there or you can create a Google account and the edit your Blogger profile. Check out the tutorial on the platform!

Ana,

If you choose the "Name/URL" option your photo won't appear. Once you have your Google account, you'll have to choose the "Google" option from the drop-down menu.

Let's give it another try! ;-)
